Each one of our clients receives training in how to build solid, sustainable non-profit organizations using strategies and best practices in non-profit management in the following areas.
Mission and Vision Planning:
A Mission Statement needs to answer three questions: Who you help? How you help them? And what are the intended results. And a mission needs to be memorable and repeatable. If it's not repeatable, it's not being shared.
A Vision Statement needs to give donors and the communities you serve hope for a brighter tomorrow. The vision will paint a picture of what can be done when your organization is supported to meet the needs of your target audience.
Board Development:
Every successful nonprofit is built on a team of dedicated volunteers. But board members can often get frustrated when they don't know what they're doing, where they're going, and when they feel like they are wasting their time and yours. We help our clients recruit board members, and give them the guidance, training, and support they need to succeed.
Strategic Planning:
Nonprofits need to know who they are (Mission), where they're going (Vision), but most importantly they need to know how they're going to get there (Strategic Plan). Unfortunately, what often passes as a Strategic Plan is a list of wishes, because a goal without a plan is just a wish. We help our clients develop strong, sustainable strategic plans that guide their organizations to success.
Program Creation:
The heart of every nonprofit are programs that meet the needs of their target audience. In terms of the communities we serve, these programs can provide access to water, food, shelter, education, healthcare, workforce development, and more. To gain the support these organizations need, their programs need measurable results. Specifically, we help our non-profit leaders answer the question: How much money equals how much good. The programs we create both meet the needs of the community, and help donors understand how their support makes a meaningful difference.
Partnership Development:
Partners add value to programs and help nonprofits provide greater services to support their target audiences without the need to create new expertise. Let's say our clients provide education and scholarships to children in Liberia. A valuable partnership can add healthcare support with semi-annual medical mission trips that provide healthcare checkups, vaccinations, and education. We help our clients build these partnerships to add value to their communities served.
Donor Marketing:
Donor marketing is about meeting the needs of donors. This doesn't sound intuitive; organizations think they need to share their needs for staff, rent/mortgage, utilities, etc. Donors want to know how many people they can help with their donations. We train non-profit leaders on how to market to donors, expand their donor bases, and increase revenue.
Fundraising:
Built on the strategies above, fundraising becomes much easier. We teach our clients how to market to donors, manage fundraising campaigns, research and write grants, host fundraising events, and more. Running a nonprofit is like running two businesses in one -- first, to provide programs and services for your target audience, and second, a separate business to raise money to support the first. We help non-profit leaders understand how to raise sustainable income to meet their needs.
